To run an optimization model these are the steps you need to follow:
1) Input Data
You must first click on the "Input Data" button at the left side of your screen. A page will appear on the right side with two options for you to choose from. * Run an existing example. If you choose this option you MUST pick an example from the list. You also have the option to modify the cleanup times if you wish to do so. * Create an example of your own. Here you need to input the number of streams products and number of stages. When you have chose your options, click on the "submit" button at the end of the page. If you chose to run an example you can go to step 2. If you choose to create you own example, a second input page appears. Here you will be asked for the names of you products, the number of batches per peroduct, and their processing times. You have to fill in ALL of the information you are asked for!! When you are finished click on the "continue" button.2) Run GAMS
Once you have inputted your data, you are ready to run GAMS. To do so, click on the left side button "Run Optimization". You should be able to see how the interations are taking place. When GAMS has finished, the phrase 'Normal Completion' should appear on the very end of your right side window. Please be patient and wait until you see that GAMS has finished, otherwise you won't get your results.3) View Results
When GAMS has finished the optimization and the 'Normal Completion' phrase appears, you are ready to see the results the model has generated with your input data To see these results click on the "Summary of Results" button at the left side window. Here you can see the information on the model you have just run, as well as the results the interface found. You can take a look at the optimal network configuration by clicking on "OPTIMAL NETWORK CONFIGURATION" button. You can also see the the temperature-heat curve, by clikning on its respective button. Make sure to click the "refresh" button on your browser to make sure you get the latest results generated.
